| Snell, Tina |
|
A photographer for 40 years, Tina has captured life and nature with a passion and talent rarely seen. She began with her father's Box Brownie and is still captivated by the magic of the process - from observation to capture and to development. Tina is a traditionalist when it comes to her art, still using film and chemical development methods. When viewing her work the viewer can be confident that the image is true to its subject with no digital enhancement or manipulation. Tina studied Visual Art at Chisholm College and has worked for Agfa, FilmPro Laboratories and the Melbourne Diagnostic Group (X-ray). A long association with the South Gippsland Photographic Group 'in the dark' as she puts it, has been a highlight of her career. Tina uses the 'point and shoot' method, her Hanimex a constant companion with a borrowed Pentax SLR and macro lens making the occasional appearance. She continues to be fascinated by the world around her and records it in great detail, and to perfection, in her work. |
